“Flags” by Marioiks, part of the various activities launched under the public notice “Bari Community Hub” for the redevelopment of the San Pio Youth Film Academy
As part of the various activities launched under the public notice “Bari Community Hub” for the redevelopment of the San Pio Youth Film Academy, a mural was planned for the entrance of the building, which was once the neighborhood’s middle school.
The task was assigned to Mario Nardulli, who, together with Pigment Workroom, initiated educational activities in the structure back in 2014 to bring urban art into the neighborhood in collaboration with local residents. In recent years, within the very same abandoned structure, PWR successfully established “Stampate”, a social screen-printing workshop. Along with three other projects—Audiovisual Production, the Music Laboratory, and Craft Beer Production—this initiative was meant to be placed at the heart and entrance of the Academy.
The goal of Marioiks was to create a welcoming space for anyone entering this cultural training hub. He assigned a color to each activity, using them to design festive banners: four rows that converge at the center of the large entrance column.
This project was co-financed by POR PUGLIA FSE 2014-2020, Priority Axis IX – Action 9.3, “Artistic and cultural support activities for users of ACR and SPAZIO13 Hubs”, within the framework of the “BARI COMMUNITY HUB – FSE PART” project.
Accessibility: Always visible from outside the Academy‘s gates and accessible during its opening hours.
