Natura a livelli – Elogio al Pulo. Ciderez, Molfetta 2023. Ispirato dagli elementi naturali della dolina carsica del Pulo di Molfetta, per giocare intorno al concetto di stratificazione.

Roberto Cireddu was inspired by the natural elements of the karst doline of the Pulo di Molfetta, to play around the concept of stratification. Enriching the project is the involvement of the citizenry, primarily the fifth grades of the Zagami Elementary School and the first classes of Poli Middle School, bordering the Park. On May 22, 2023, Ciredz had the opportunity to visit the pulo together with the students, in a guided tour that allowed them to assess the stratification of natural and anthropic elements present in the deep sinkhole, collecting small plant elements useful for the elaborate art. Following this study, it was possible to start with the art workshops dedicated to them, making them direct protagonists of the first portion of the park’s long wall. In a workshop led by Pigment Workroom, the young artists were asked to redraw leaves and other plant elements collected in the Pulo in order to make stamps with which a pattern was created on which the artist Ciredz was able to superimpose her unmistakable graphic mark.

The mural, starting from this unpredictable interaction, then stretches for more than 40 meters developing an interplay of shapes that follows the conformation of Baden Powell Park, interacting with the plants and trees present, playing with the morphology of the area. Starting from the same reflection, the artist was asked for a sculptural work exhibited today at the Pulo Archaeological Museum in Molfetta, which succeeds in bringing the theme of landscape into an immersive plastic form, with eight tones of color on wood. “Natura a livelli – Elogio al pulo” is a public art project funded by the STHAR notice LAB of the Apulia Region and entrusted by the Municipality of Molfetta to the agency I Monelli, with the artistic curatorship of the cultural association Pigment Workroom in collaboration with artist Ciredz.
