The Prix Italia, an international competition organized by Rai that rewards excellence in radio, TV and web, has produced a work that brings art closer to people in terms of themes and modalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Sustainability, then, but also active citizen participation. The Southern Adriatic Sea Port System Authority provided a wall of about 35\u00d76 meters. This is the first time RAI has combined public art and education, and it is also the first mural in the port of Bari. The theme of sustainability is also extremely fitting considering the place where we have been working. The sea is also becoming a social issue, as well as a political one, given the growing attention to man-made pollution with its anthropocentric view that looks at natural resources as an indestructible, continuous-cycle system. This is not the case, and the entropy of planet Earth is showing with the effects of climate change what we are encountering. Also contributing to this is tourism, which has a strong impact especially in areas such as the old city, which has been undergoing a major process of gentrification for years. To those who arrive in the city of Bari by boat we want to give, in addition to a welcome, a message that attends them to the fragility of the urban and natural systems into which they are entering, reminding them what are good practices and respectful behaviors to consider in their host region. RAI, with the support of the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Bari, has chosen a collective local, Pigment Workroom, in order to have maximum adherence to the \u201chorizontal\u201d objectives set, which was which was joined by artist Mattia Botta – in art Geometric Bang – an artist from Lombardy but of Bari adoption after the love born for the city in 2014 following a project carried out with Pigment in the northern suburbs of the city. Sustainable Me is a project for the Prix Italia 2022 funded by RAI, with the support of the City of Bari’s Department of Cultures, the City of Bari’s Department of Welfare, the Port System Authority of the Southern Adriatic Sea and the nautical school \u201cA vele unfurled.\u201d Pigment would like to thank for technical support Montana Colors, Backjump Street Shop, the El Pintor and Tecnol SRL. Accessibility: just a short walk from the Cruise Terminal, the wall is visible to all vehicles in transit as they enter and exiting the port, visitors who have just arrived in Bari thus have an open-air canvas to look at while waiting.
